Construction Association and Event Intelligence: BILD, OHBA, RESCON and the Room You Are Walking Into

Construction Association and Event Intelligence: BILD, OHBA, RESCON and the Room You Are Walking Into
AI-narrated audio version

You are at the BILD dinner. Two hundred name tags, forty minutes before the speeches. A handful of people here will award work in your trade this year. Everyone else is a builder who is not hiring, a supplier, or the guy from the bank. The job is knowing which twenty before dessert. That is the job Builtie's association tracking does for GTA trades: it ties members of groups like BILD to their company records and permits, so the twenty are known before the name tags go on.

Two Builtie plans change what you know walking in. Growth gives you the full dashboard of events and exhibitions. Custom adds association and board tracking.

Associations publish more than you think

Member directories. Board and committee rosters. Award winners, event calendars, speaker lists, sponsor logos. All public, all scattered, none of it connected to the one thing you care about: which of these companies has a project at framing this month.

On the Custom plan, Builtie tracks those sources for associations such as BILD, OHBA and RESCON in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), the founding market, and links every member to the company record already in the database. Membership, board seats and awards show up on the company and on every active project. A membership list is a phone book. A membership list tied to live permits is a route sheet.

Why a board seat matters to a trade

A builder on an association committee is active, established and visible: the kind that awards work every year and goes back to trades it trusts. Association standing is shown on the company in your feed, so the rep sees why this builder gets the call. The builder who shows up to the meetings is usually the builder with work to hand out.

Walk in knowing, not hoping

Growth and Custom customers see upcoming events in the dashboard: speakers, sponsors, organizers. On Custom, those names are cross-referenced against your feed, so a rep arriving at an industry night knows which three sponsors have projects in the territory at the right stage, and which person at each one signs the contract. A different evening from squinting at lanyards.

When a real meeting comes out of the handshake, Custom's meeting prep puts the company in front of you first: its active projects, its people, its recent posts.

A directory row is a lead, not a leftover

For most companies, the directory carries a phone number before anything else does. In one association run of 2,079 members, directory rows plus company websites took contact coverage from 6% to 98%. At 1,272 of them the main line was the first contact point; 277 had a website but no published email. A main line is a real contact, not a failure. Plenty of GC relationships started at the front desk.

How Builtie fits

The events and exhibitions dashboard and social media signals are on the Growth plan. Association and board tracking, meeting prep and multi-territory coverage are added on Custom. None of it replaces the handshake. It makes sure the handshake is with the builder who has three jobs starting, not the one standing near the bar.

Frequently asked questions

Which associations does Builtie track?

In the founding market, Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA): BILD (Building Industry and Land Development Association), OHBA (Ontario Home Builders' Association) and RESCON (Residential Construction Council of Ontario), plus design and trade bodies whose member directories are public. Association tracking is a Custom-plan item, and Custom customers can ask for an association relevant to their own market to be added.

Can Builtie tell me who is attending an event?

Builtie surfaces the event, its speakers, sponsors and organizing committee, and on the Custom plan cross-references announced participants against the companies in your feed. Full attendee lists are rarely public. The intelligence is who is likely to be in the room and which of them have live projects.

How does association data connect to project leads?

A member company is matched to its record in Builtie's database, so membership, board roles and event participation appear on the company and on any active project it has. The rep sees the standing and the live project side by side, which is a much better opener than the weather.
