Done-For-You: we run the whole sales function, you run the jobs

Most trade contractors do not have a marketing person. They have an owner who is on site until six and answers messages at nine, and a sales process that runs when nothing else is on fire. Builtie's two self-serve plans hand that person a much better list and much better tooling — but they still need someone to use them. Done-For-You is the answer when the bottleneck is not data, it is time. Our team operates the whole thing: we find the projects, write the content, run the channels, answer the comments, test the messaging and hand you conversations with people who want to talk about their job.
The same four steps, whether the buyer is a builder, a designer, an owner or a company you want to acquire.
Where Done-For-You sits
Builtie sells two self-serve plans and one managed service. The platform underneath is identical; what changes is who operates it.
| Starter · $79/seat/mo | Growth · $99/seat/mo | Done-For-You · from $1,500/mo | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Matched projects | 20 a month | 50 a month | Scoped to your territory |
| Decision-maker contacts | Included | Included | Included |
| LinkedIn and email outreach | Not included | Included, you run it | Included, we run it |
| Content and posting | — | — | Written and published by us |
| Comments and DMs | — | You answer them | We answer them |
| A/B testing | — | Manual | Run and reported by us |
| Competitor and audience analysis | — | — | Monthly |
| Who operates it | You | You | Builtie's team |
That last row is the whole decision. If you have someone who will log in three times a week, Growth at $99 is almost certainly the right answer and this page is not for you. If nobody on your team is going to do that — and being honest about it now saves everyone a wasted quarter — Done-For-You is the version where it still happens.
A pipeline that runs 24/7, not when someone remembers
The reason a managed service can work at this price is that most of the work is already automated. Our team is steering a machine that runs on its own schedule, every day, whether or not anyone is at a desk.
Steps 1 to 5 run whether or not anyone is at a desk. Step 6 is our team.
Content: written, approved, published
Nobody in construction wants to write LinkedIn posts. We do it, in your voice, about your work.
- A monthly content calendar built from what you are actually building — the jobs in your own feed, the sites you visited, the finishes you just installed — rather than generic trade advice.
- Posts for your company LinkedIn and Instagram, written and scheduled, with the photos you send us from site cleaned up and captioned.
- Outreach copy per trade and per project type. A message to a custom-home builder at framing and a message to a developer at foundation are different messages, and both are different from the one you send an interior designer.
- Warming comments on your prospects' posts, so your name is familiar before the first direct message arrives rather than appearing cold.
- Follow-up sequences, including the ones most contractors never send — the third touch, the six-week re-open, the note when a builder's next permit lands.
- Your approval, if you want it. Some customers review everything before it goes out; some hand us the keys after month one. Both are normal and you choose.
Channels we run, and what each one honestly does
| Channel | What we run on it | The honest limit |
|---|---|---|
| Connection requests, direct messages, InMail on seats that hold credits, profile views, post likes, warming comments on your prospects' posts, and posts published from your company page. | Volume is capped per account, on purpose. The caps protect the account; we do not raise them to hit a number. | |
| Sequences sent from your own mailbox (Gmail, Outlook or Zoho), so replies land in your inbox and the domain reputation you build is yours. Replies are classified by intent and routed. | Deliverability depends on your domain's history. A brand-new domain needs a warm-up period before volume. | |
| Posting, replies to comments, replies to DMs your audience opens, plus audience and competitor-audience analysis and per-person enrichment. | No cold DMs. Opening a conversation with someone who has not messaged you requires Instagram's official Messaging API and an approved app review. We will not fake it with an unofficial tool. | |
| SMS | Meeting reminders and confirmations on booked calls, which is where it moves the number most. | Canadian numbers only today. A Canadian long code into a US number is filtered by US carriers with no error. |
| Site visits | The week's visits routed geographically, so a ten-stop day is a loop rather than a zig-zag across the city. | We plan the route. Someone from your side still has to drive it. |
The Instagram row is the one worth reading twice. A number of agencies will sell you cold Instagram DMs at scale. The tools that do it are unofficial, they put the account at risk, and we are not going to run them on a business whose Instagram is a real marketing asset. What we do instead — post, reply, and mine the audience for who is worth reaching on a channel where cold contact is legitimate — is slower and it does not get your account disabled.
Campaigns: built, run, and actually managed
A campaign that gets set up in month one and never touched again is the normal outcome of buying outreach software. Managing it is the service.
- Sequences built per segment, with the timing and the number of touches set from what that segment actually responds to, not a template.
- Enrolment kept full — new matched projects flow into the right campaign as they appear, so the top of the funnel does not quietly empty out in month three.
- Sending accounts monitored: connection acceptance rate, reply rate, bounce rate, deliverability and account health, with volume pulled back before a platform does it for us.
- Suppression handled properly — existing customers, live quotes, anyone who asked not to be contacted, and anyone already in a conversation with another rep on your team.
- Every reply triaged, the real ones escalated to you the same day, the rest answered or closed.
Testing: A/B on the messaging, and early access on the product
Two different things get tested, and they are worth separating.
A/B testing the messaging
Every campaign runs at least two variants. We test one thing at a time — the subject line, the opening sentence, the ask, the length, the send day — and we hold the variant long enough to mean something rather than calling a winner off nine sends. The platform stores variants per message so the comparison is recorded rather than remembered, and the result appears in your monthly report with the numbers behind it. Where a test is inconclusive we say so; a coin flip reported as an insight is worse than no test.
Beta access to what we build next
Done-For-You accounts get new features first, because we need real accounts to test them on and you get the capability before it is generally available. You are told when something is in beta, what it is expected to do, and what happens if it does not work. Nothing experimental runs against your sending accounts without you agreeing to it first.
Analysis: your audience, your competitors, your numbers
Your followers, and what to do with them
The people already following your company are the warmest audience you own and almost nobody works them. We read that audience, work out who among them is a builder, developer, designer, GC or owner rather than a supplier or a competitor, enrich the ones worth reaching with a business email and a LinkedIn profile, and move them into the right campaign. The same list, exported, becomes a retargeting audience you can hand to your own ad account.
Your competitors
We track the trade contractors competing for the same packages in your territory: who is posting, what they are posting about, which builders are engaging with them, which projects they appear on in the permit record, and who follows them that does not follow you. That last one is the useful list.
Reporting you can actually act on
- Projects matched, opened and contacted, with the ones you asked us to skip and why.
- Per-channel activity and reply rate, split by trade and project type rather than averaged into one number.
- Which messaging variant won, by how much, and what we are changing next month.
- Conversations handed to you, and what happened to the ones from previous months.
- What did not work. A report with no bad news in it is a report nobody should trust.
One panel, all of it in the same place
Everything above writes into one system rather than five. The project feed, the decision-maker records, the LinkedIn threads, the email threads, the Instagram conversations, the site visits, the campaign stats and the reply history for a given builder all sit on the same record. When a builder you messaged in March pulls a new permit in September, that is one record with the history attached, not a search across four tools and somebody's memory. You have full access to it throughout — Done-For-You is not a black box with a monthly PDF.
What we do not do
Worth stating plainly, because every one of these gets asked on the call:
- We do not guarantee a number of meetings. Anyone who does is either pricing the guarantee into the fee or is about to disappoint you. We commit to the work and report the result honestly.
- We do not send cold Instagram DMs, for the reason in the channel table above.
- We do not pretend coverage we do not have. Builtie covers North America and its project and contact data is deepest in Toronto and the GTA, where it started. Permit data quality is set by what each municipality publishes. Ask us for live sample projects in your own city before you sign anything, and if your territory is thin we will tell you on the call rather than after the first invoice.
- We do not quote your jobs or take your calls. When a builder wants to talk about price, that is you. Our job is to make sure that conversation happens.
- We do not lock you in. Month to month after the first month of setup.
Scope and price
| Scope | Typical monthly | What it usually covers |
|---|---|---|
| One channel, one territory | CAD $1,500 | LinkedIn or email, run end to end for one rep in one metro. Content calendar, campaign build, replies triaged, monthly report. |
| Multi-channel, one company | CAD $2,000 | LinkedIn and email together, company LinkedIn and Instagram posting, comments and DMs answered, A/B testing on the messaging, competitor and follower analysis. |
| Multi-rep or multi-territory | CAD $3,000+ | Several seats or several metros, separate messaging per trade or per region, retargeting audiences built and handed to your ad account, weekly reporting. |
Done-For-You is quoted after a call and sits on top of a Growth seat at $99 per seat per month, so the platform, the data and the panel are the same ones a self-serve customer gets — you are paying for the team that operates them. Most engagements land between CAD $1,500 and $3,000 a month. We scope it against your trade, your territory and how many channels you want running, and we would rather tell you Growth is enough than sell you a retainer you do not need.
The first 30 days
Slower in week three than most agencies. An account burned in week three cannot be rescued in month two.
So: $79, $99, or Done-For-You?
Why $79 Starter is good for you
Starter is $79 per seat per month for 20 matched projects. That is $3.95 for a fully worked project — the decision maker, their verified email, phone and LinkedIn, the site context and the opening script, all included in the one credit, with the credit rolling over if you do not use it and staying valid for a year. Finding that yourself is roughly twenty minutes a project across permit portals and LinkedIn, so the plan buys back around seven hours a month. Choose Starter if you already have somebody who sends the messages and what you are short of is a qualified list to send them to. It does not include Outreach.
Why $99 Growth is good for you
Growth is $99 per seat per month for 50 matched projects and every platform feature. Twenty dollars more than Starter buys two and a half times the projects — $1.98 each — plus the entire outreach layer: LinkedIn and email sequences, campaigns, the unified inbox, events and social signals. Anyone opening more than 20 projects a month is better off on Growth on volume alone, before counting the ten to fifteen hours a week that automated follow-up gives back. At $40 to $50 an hour for a sales rep that is $1,600 to $3,000 a month of recovered time for $99. Choose Growth if someone on your team will log in and run it.
When Done-For-You is the right call
Choose Done-For-You when the honest answer to “who is going to run this?” is nobody. It is also the right call when you want content going out under your brand and have no one to write it, when you are entering a new territory and want it worked properly from day one, when several reps need separate messaging kept straight, or when you have tried outreach software before and it quietly stopped after six weeks. The platform is the same. What you are buying is that it actually gets used.
Not sure? Start the 10-day free trial, which includes 10 projects and costs nothing if you cancel before it ends, and see your own territory first. Then book a call and we will tell you which of the three you need — including when that answer is $79.
Frequently asked questions
What does Done-For-You cost?
It is quoted after a call, and most engagements land between CAD $1,500 and $3,000 a month on top of a Growth seat at $99 per seat per month. The range reflects real differences in scope: one channel in one territory is about $1,500, multi-channel for one company is about $2,000, and multiple reps or territories starts around $3,000.
How is it different from Growth at $99?
The platform is identical. On Growth you operate it: you open the projects, build the campaigns, write the content, answer the comments and work the replies. On Done-For-You our team does all of that and hands you the conversations. If someone on your team will log in three times a week, Growth is the better buy.
Do you write the content, or do I?
We do. A monthly content calendar, posts for your company LinkedIn and Instagram, the outreach copy per trade and project type, warming comments and the follow-up sequences, all in your voice and about your own jobs. You can approve everything before it goes out, or hand us the keys after the first month.
Do you send cold Instagram DMs?
No. Opening a conversation with someone who has not messaged you first requires Instagram's official Messaging API and an approved app review. The tools that do it anyway are unofficial and put the account at risk. We post, we reply to comments and to DMs your audience opens, and we analyze your audience and your competitors' audiences to find who is worth reaching on a channel where cold contact is legitimate.
Do you guarantee a number of meetings?
No, and we would be careful with anyone who does. We commit to the work, run at least two messaging variants on every campaign, and report what actually happened each month including what did not work.
How do you A/B test the messaging?
Every campaign runs at least two variants and we change one thing at a time, usually the subject line, the opening sentence, the ask, the length or the send day. Variants are stored per message so the comparison is recorded rather than remembered, and the result lands in your monthly report with the numbers behind it. Where a test is inconclusive we say so rather than calling a winner off a handful of sends.
Is my data and my account access mine?
Yes. Sequences send from your own mailbox and your own LinkedIn, so the replies land with you and the domain reputation you build is yours. You have full access to the panel throughout, and the project records and contact history stay with your account.
Is there a contract?
Month to month after the first month of setup. There is also a 10-day free trial of the platform itself, with 10 projects included, if you want to see your own territory before talking about a retainer.
What if my territory does not have good coverage?
We will tell you on the call. Builtie covers North America and its data is deepest in Toronto and the GTA where it started, because permit data quality is set by what each municipality publishes. Ask for live sample projects in your own city before signing anything.
