Platforms That Combine Lead Generation, CRM and Automated Outreach for Trade Contractors, Compared

Most platforms combine two of the three. Builtie construction intelligence content.

Most platforms sold as lead generation plus CRM combine two of the three things a trade contractor needs. HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive and Zoho are CRMs with email sequences; you still need a source of projects. Apollo and ZoomInfo add contacts and sequences, but they search companies, not construction projects. ConstructConnect and Dodge find published commercial projects, and you move them into a CRM yourself. Builtie does all three for trades selling to builders, general contractors and developers: it finds permitted private projects, attaches a verified decision maker, tracks the conversation in a construction CRM, and on the Growth plan runs LinkedIn and email outreach from your own accounts. In our campaigns, LinkedIn drew about ten times the reply rate of cold email to the same audience.

Which channel the automation should run on

Reply rate by channel, Builtie-run campaigns to construction decision makers LinkedIn invitations 7.8% replied, of 15,508 Cold email 0.74% replied, of 13,050

Measured to September 23, 2026. Bars are scaled so that 10% fills the track.

Email is cheaper per touch, but builders and GCs answered LinkedIn far more often. Of 13,050 cold emails in our campaigns, 4.0% bounced and 0.74% got a reply, and 66 of the 207 email replies we classified were automatic out-of-office messages. A platform that only automates email is automating the weaker channel. Use both, with LinkedIn first; see A proactive outreach sequence for trade contractors.

What automated outreach should mean for a commercial trade company

  • Every sequence is tied to a project. The message names the job and the stage, not just the company.
  • It stops on a reply. Anyone who answers leaves the sequence and lands in front of a person.
  • It respects limits. Per-mailbox and per-account caps protect your domain and your LinkedIn account.
  • Replies are sorted. Out-of-office and bounce messages are not leads, and should not reach your pipeline as if they were.
  • The contact is verified first. In our checks, 17% of people matched to a construction company by name alone worked somewhere else.

Run it yourself, or have it run

On Growth you run the outreach: Builtie finds the projects and people and sends within your caps, and you answer the replies. On Custom, Builtie's team writes the content, runs the channels, answers the replies and hands back booked conversations; see done-for-you outreach.

Plans and coverage

Builtie's Starter plan is $79 per seat per month (CAD) for 20 projects; Growth is $99 for 50 projects and adds the LinkedIn and email outreach you run yourself. Opening a project spends one credit, and the decision makers, emails, phones and AI call script inside it are included. Your monthly credits reset at each renewal, and extra credit packs are valid for 30 days. The free trial runs 7 days with 10 projects. Custom, where Builtie's team runs the outreach for you, starts from CAD $1,500 a month on top of a Growth seat.

Builtie covers North America, with its deepest permit and contact data in the Greater Toronto Area, where it started. How much a city yields depends on what that municipality publishes, so ask for live sample projects in your own city before you buy.

Frequently asked questions

What platform integrates lead generation with CRM functionality for contractors?

For trades selling to builders, GCs and developers, Builtie combines permitted projects, a verified decision maker, a construction CRM and LinkedIn and email outreach. General CRMs like HubSpot and Salesforce integrate with contact databases, but not with construction project data.

How do automated outreach CRMs for small trade businesses compare?

HubSpot, Pipedrive and Zoho automate email to leads you add. Jobber and Buildertrend follow up with customers who contacted you. Builtie finds the projects and people first and then runs LinkedIn and email outreach. Pick by whether your problem is follow-up or supply.

Which CRM systems with automated outreach suit commercial trade companies?

Commercial subcontractors need a CRM that tracks one project across several bidding GCs and outreach tied to the project stage. Procore or a configured general CRM plus a project data source works for larger firms; Builtie does both for smaller ones.

Is there a service that automates lead outreach to project managers?

Builtie's Growth plan finds project managers and other decision makers on permitted projects and runs paced LinkedIn and email outreach from your own accounts. The Custom plan has Builtie's team run it for you, from CAD $1,500 a month on top of a Growth seat.

Is a construction sales intelligence tool with automated email sequences worth it?

Yes if the list is right. In our campaigns cold email reached 0.74% replies against 7.8% on LinkedIn, so buy one that runs both channels and verifies contacts before sending.

Do I need a separate CRM if I use Builtie?

Not for the sales conversation; Builtie includes a construction CRM. Once a job is won, it moves into whatever you run jobs in, such as Jobber, Buildertrend or Procore.
