How the Texas markets differ
Austin carries 92% of the signage projects counted in Texas. The smaller markets matter for a contractor based there: fewer projects, and usually fewer competitors calling the same builders.
Austin. Austin files separate permits for each trade and names the contractor on each. It states a construction cost on only about 7% of permits, so Builtie publishes counts for Austin but no dollar totals. The job-size filter needs a stated cost, so Austin's trade counts are also the least filtered of any city. Customers in Round Rock, Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Georgetown and San Marcos are shown this feed.
San Antonio. The data is San Antonio's own building permits. Neighbouring cities issue their own permits and are not in this count. The permit names a contact person; Builtie resolves the company behind it before a project is shown. Customers in New Braunfels, Schertz, Boerne and the rest of Bexar County are shown this feed.
Fort Worth. The data is Fort Worth's own building permits. Neighbouring cities issue their own permits and are not in this count. Arlington, Dallas and the rest of the Dallas-Fort Worth area are separate permit offices. Builtie looks up the owner company and its contacts behind Fort Worth permits rather than reading a builder off the permit. Customers in Keller, Benbrook, Haltom City and the rest of Tarrant County are shown this feed.
